SUPPORTING TRAFFORD HEART & STROKE CLUB

On Saturday evening, Broadway came to St Johns Church, Flixton. The Affetside Choir from Bury and the June Rendell Academy of Dance from Altrincham, both gave a magnificent preformance in aid of the Trafford Heart & Stroke Club. Urmston Lions hosted the event and were delighted that an audience of over 70 visitors joined them to enjoy the music.
Affetside Choir displayed their talents by singing a wide range of choral pieces, from G & S to Rodgers & Hammerstein. Individual members of the Choir gave solos of great quality.

The June Rendell Academy of Dance performed pieces based on Michael Jackson's work, modern, modern, modern and then donned their tutu's and rose onto their points and showed their classical abilities.
The talents of this group of young people impressed everyone, proving yet again that the majority of our young people are worthy of praise. These young people were only too happy to give up their Saturday night to benefit a good cause. Urmston Lions wish to publicly thank these tremendous young people.

Both sets of entertainers gave their time free and did not even ask for expenses. Thanks to them our audience went away humming the tunes from the shows and saying how talented the young people were.
£330 was raised and will be presented to the Trafford Heart & Stroke Club, and will help to ensure the Stroke Club is able to continue its good work.
