OUR PROJECTS INCLUDE:

Dictionaries for Third Graders- Each fall the Veseli Lions partner with the New Market-Elko-Webster Lions (N.E.W.) to provider new dictionaries to the third graders at the New Prague Public Schools and the Holy Cross Catholic School. The members of the Lions Clubs give a short presentation to the students to gain their interest in the use of their new tool. The students use these dictionaries for the duration of their elementary education.

Host the iHoops Skills Challenge -The iHoops Skills Challenge is a national basketball skills competition open to all boys and girls, ages 9 to 14. Players showcase their basketball abilities for a chance to compete in the national finals.

Host the Pitch, Hit & Run - The Pitch, Hit & Run competition is open to boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 14. It provides an integrated competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball and softball skills.  

Coordinate the Veseli 4th of July Celebration - The 4th of July celebration is a community event that includes a parade, Children's games, Veseli warriors baseball game, fireworks at dusk along with food and beverages. 

Coordinate Visits from the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus - The Veseli Lions set up a time and place for The Easter Bunny and Santa Claus to make their annual appearances. Participating children get a goody bag and pictures with the Easter Bunny or Santa. Easter includes an Easter egg hunt.

Eyeglass collections- Eye glass donation boxes are available at local businesses where community members are encouraged to donate their old eyeglasses. The eyeglasses are then collected by the Veseli Lions members, combined with eye glasses from other Lions Clubs, and distributed to people in other areas of the world who cannot afford eyeglasses.
