Sight/Speech and Hearing Committee: Through the work of this committee needy adults and children that qualify for care are provided eye exams and glasses.
Recycle for Sight: unwanted eye glasses and hearing aids are collected at locations around the communities and recycled.
Strong-Kids-Safe-Kids: members use a photo eye camera that takes a picture of a child's cornea and is evaluated by an optometrist for several conditions.
Schuyler Hospital Pasta Dinner- Funds are raised for the hospital auxiliary by serving pasta dinner to over 300 people.
Salvation Army Bell-Ringing: members working two locations in front of Wal-Mart entrances in Watkins Glen ringing for donations.
Village Christmas Lions have a booth in the downtown business center and offer free popcorn and hot chocolate. Offered a FREE photo with Santa to the children.
Adopt-A-Highway. Twice-a-year, members pick up trash along the adopted stretch of highway in keeping Route 14 State Highway free from litter in the segment between Watkins Glen and Montour Falls, NY.
A major fund raiser is the sale of Christmas Trees, members go to the Tree Farm, first to tag the trees around early Fall, then revisit the Farm to cut and haul trees to sell at a local Gas Station in downtown Watkins. Our normal sales volume is between 190 trees to over 215.
