Welcome Lions club celebrates 50 years of Membership
On March 6, 2010, Welcome Lions celebrated 50 years of membership by Lions Willis Walser and Ralph Hiatt. Both joined the club on March 1, 1960. Willis was sponsored by David Craver and Ralph Hiatt was sponsored by Beverlly Smith. Lion Willis has served in most positions in the club and has been treasurer since 1993. Lion Willis is a veteran and repairs most things at the lion’s den. Lion Ralph Hiatt also served most positions in the club, is a military veteran, served in North Africa and was an active booster at North Davidson Junior High. He was a member of Dr. Jerry Bates district cabinet and is a long term Lion Tamer.
Past District Governor Allan Thompson from West Lexington Lions presented a framed certificate of appreciation and a letter of thanks from PDG Dr. Jerry Bates from the Lexington Downtown Lions Club.
