Service Activities

Weslaco Lions participate in a variety of service and fundraising activities throughout the year. 

• Eye exams and eyeglasses for those who can't afford them
• Eyeglass recycling
• Pediavision exams for young children
• Watermelon feed at the Texas Lions Camp
• Weslaco Softball/Baseball Pony Champions League for children with special needs.
• Raising awareness of & finding campers for the Texas Lions Camp
• Christmas baskets 
• Scholarships
• Books for Weslaco elementary school students
• Diabetes Awareness
• White Cane Day
• Adopt-A-Park

Money raised  goes to many Lions charities:

• Texas Lions Camp
• Lions Eye Bank of Texas
• Leader Dogs for the Blind
• LCIF - Lions Clubs International Foundation 
• World Service for the Blind
• Weslaco Little League
• Weslaco Pony League
• Aurora House, a local hospice that provides care free of charge

Fundraisers include:

• The Weslaco Lions Day/Night Golf Tournament (in November)
• Hamburger Basket plates (twice a year, August and April)
• Raffles (three times a year, October, January, and May)
• Garage Sales (twice a year, September and March)
• Food Drives
