Lion Lore Sydnor has helped sort and organize the nearly 1,000 pair of glasses collected since spring of 2008. Glasses were then presented to District Governor Daluge.
Used Eyeglass Collection
One of our ongoing service projects is the collection of used eyeglasses. Permanent collection boxes (former post office drop boxes) are in place in surrounding communities. Used eyeglasses can be conveniently placed in the drop slot to be collected and sorted by West Grant Lions members.
The project helps provide impoverished individuals in third world countries with corrective eyewear that they otherwise would have no access to.
Operation Santa Claus
This annual project helps families in need in the Bloomington, Bagley, Mt. Hope and Patch Grove area. Food boxes, including turkeys and hams, are delivered by club members to each family's home. Mittens, gloves, scarves and toys, collected at River Ridge High School, are given to families with children.
