WORKING TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF LOCAL PEOPLE

This year we continuing with some of our successful projects but have also initiated new ideas and service.

  • THE TALKING CHAMPION

One of our most successful projects is The Talking Champion. We record a local magazine to a cassette tape every 2 months. With the support of Royal Mail and Wirral Society of Blind & Visually Impaired this is sent out to over 100 people in Wirral who are visually impaired.

  • MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE

People at risk are provided with a small plastic bottle in which they can store personal information which can be accessed in the event of an emergency. For further information about the project visit ... http://www.lionsmd105.org/Community/MIAB/scheme_works.htm

  • LIONS YOUNG LEADERS IN SERVICE AWARDS.

This has been a very successful programme and each year the number of youngsters receiving the award increases. We currently have links with St Mary's College, Wallasey, . This year thirty three youngsters have been presented with these Lions Clubs International certificates in recognition of the hours that they gave to volunteering.

  • CHRISTMAS STAR APPEAL

Each year we decorate a tree in our local library with gold stars. Each star has the gender and age of a child on the reverse. We invite members of the public to take a star and return with an appropriate gift for a needy child at Christmas.
