DICTIONARY PROJECT for 3rd graders. Dictionaries (622)were given in the fall of 2009 to all 3rd graders at Walzem Elementary, Windcrest Elementary,Camelot Elementary, and Montgomery Elementary and faculty.

FUNDING PROJECT FOR FALL 2009:  Club members sell Christmas Greenery (real stuff) during October for delivery the first week of December.  Funds raised go toward funding the Dictionaries for 3rd graders and for other causes.  Lions Jack Leonhardt and Ric Henderson coordinate this project. 

PEACE POSTER CONTEST. The Ed White Middle School winners for 2009 are:

3rd place:  Thai Katarat;    2nd place:   Joseph Gallvan;    1st Place:   Ashleigh Tufugu    Lion Don Myles coordinated this activity.

An Awards Ceremony took place Monday, January 25, at 2 p.m. at the Ed White Middle School.   Since this event, 1st place Ashleigh Tufugu's Peace Poster won the District 2-A2 contest and is now at the Texas State Level competition.  WAY TO GO ASHLEIGH!

SPRING FUND RAISER:    This year the Windcrest Lions Club decided to have an Italian Dinner for their Fund Raiser on Saturday, March 27 instead of the long-standing Mexican Dinner.   Look for the announcements:    Feeding time will be from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at the Wndcrest Civic Center.  Cost is $6.00 per plate--Eat in or take out.  Call 654.8088 or 290.9361 to reserve tickets.     All Profits go to Lions Charities.
