Strides :

On November 6, 2010, The Windhoek Lions Club will embark on a diabetes awareness campaign by organising a "night-walk". The starting point is at Zoo Park and the route is up to Ausspannplatz, turnaround at waterpoint, walk down Independence Avenue to the Kudu, and return to the Zoo Park.

Participants will be encouraged to build lanterns, which will be judged.

Each participant will receive a Coke Zero and light snack will be provided at end of walk.

The blood bank, diabetes testing, cholesterol testing, will be available.

Taste Windhoek :

In February 2011, the Windhoek Lions Club will allow residents and visitors to Windhoek to taste the various restaurants most favourite meals. A social interactive programme where small portions of various types of foods will be on the menu, allowing visitors to taste what Windhoek restaurants have to offer.
