Welcome to the Alexandria Lincolnia Lions Club!!!

We are a motivated and fun-living group that enjoys networking, giving back to the Community, and having FUN!!!

Meeting Details:

When:  Social is before and after the meeting which starts at 7:00pm.  Our Club meets once during the months of May, June, July, August, September, November and December.  On the other months, we meet on the 2nd/4th Tuesday of each month.

Where:  Fratelli II Italian Restaurant - 410 S Van Dorn St, Alexandria 22304

The Alexandria Lincolnia Lions Club celebrated 57 years of existence.  Thank you to the founding members and all that have been a part of this Club.  Here's to many more years of service to our community.

Club Meeting.  We also provided eyeglasses to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (LERC).  In addition, our Club President, Lioness Lisa mailed "133" cleaned pill bottles to Matthew 25: Ministries

Lion Tejas Patel attended the "Wreaths Across America" event at Alexandria National Cemetery and placed wreaths at the graves of several veterans.

Lion Tejas Patel, on behalf of the Alexandria Lincolnia Lions Club, delivered toys to the Alexandria Sheriff's Department in support of their Operation Elf where toys are provided to the children of those that are incarcerated.

Lion Karen Keyes delivered, on behalf of The Alexandria Lincolnia Lions Club, $500 gift cards for the families, and $50.00 for them to purchase laundry detergent and other cleaning supplies.

Lions Karen and Dan Duncan delivered about $30 of canned goods to the Burke Lions food drive.

Enjoying the last meeting of the year with our fellow Lions.  Our President, Lion Lisa Romano also provided 331 stamps for the "Stamps for the Wounded" Program.  The Club also received a patch from the Northern Virginia Youth Lions Camp.

Club President Lisa Romano, Club Secretary Tejas Patel, fellow Lions from the Alexandria Asian American Lions Club, and friends, rang the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettles.

Peace Poster Contest

Students from O.W. Holmes MS from Lincolnia, VA provided the Club with many entries for this year's annual Peace Posters Contest.

On Monday, Nov 9, 2020, Lioness Lisa and Guest Dave cleaned the sidewalk side of Lincolnia Road (1-1/2 bags / 6 hours).  On Tuesday, Nov 10, 2020, Lion Ken finished the other side of Lincolnia Road (1-1/2 bags / 2 hours). Lion Ken also called VDOT Adopt-A-Highway to pick up the 3 orange bags of trash.  Lincolnia Road is finished for a total of 8 hours and 3 bags of trash.

We had a great meeting with some of our members at Fratelli Restaurant in Alexandria and others on Zoom.  Our Club President, Lisa Romano, provides 258 stamps for the Stamps for the Wounded Program (https://www.stampsforthewounded.org/).  Thank you.

It is with profound sadness that we share that Past District Governor (1969-1970) and Charter member of the Alexandria Lincolnia Lions Club, Wendell Keyes, passed away on 9 Aug 2020.

PDG Wendell K. collected 109 stamps for "Stamps for the Wounded" at our Club meeting.

Lion Lisa R. (Club President) mailed out [104] empty cleaned pill bottles to Matthew 25: Ministries - as a donation to improve medical care in developing countries and caring for our environment.

We had a fruitful virtual meeting where our DG-E Glen Logan and our fellow Zone Club, AAA Lions Club, joined us to share their wisdom regarding Lions Club and the upcoming year.  

Our incoming Club President, Lisa Romano, has collected stamps to be provided to "Stamps for the Wounded".

The Lions International Peace Poster contest is a wonderful opportunity for Lions Clubs to work with youth in their community to promote peace, tolerance and international understanding.  It encourages young people, ages 11 to 13, to think about peace, creatively express what it means to them and share their unique visions with the world.  The theme this year was "Journey of Peace".  Thank you to Lisa Romano for spearheading this effort.

Club Installation Night.  Club Officers reaffirmed their commitment to the Club and Lions International.

Zone 2 volunteers supported Sight and Hearing Mobile Van 1 and 29 June at Sacramento and Gum Springs Neighborhood Centers respectively.    The Zone provided 12 volunteers and screened over 50 participants.  Zone 2 volunteers were from Alexandria Lincolnia, Alexandria Asian American and Fall Church Annandale.

On May 21, 2019, Lion Wendell Keyes delivered 70 pairs of used eye glasses, to the Lions Eye Glasses Recycling Center of Northern Virginia.  The total number of glasses contributed this Lion Year 2018-2019 has been 150 pairs.  (Lion Wendell Keyes) 
 
On May 20, 2019, Alexandria Lincolnia Lions Club provided 460 used stamps to the "Stamps for the Wounded Program".  The total stamps provided for the Lion Year 2018-2019 has been 1,895. (Lion Wendell Keyes)
