Alexandria-Lincolnia Lions Club

July 9, 2019

Attending: D Duncan, K Duncan, K Keyes, W Keyes, T Patel, K Romano, L Romano

Excused: J Cooper, R Cooper

Meeting called to order at 7:15 pm by Lion Ken Romano. Lion Daniel Duncan volunteered to take minutes as a quorum was present.

Members discussed possibilities for programs during the new Lion year, which started July 1. The consensus was to consider one meeting a month for a program and the other meeting to conduct club business.

Lion Ken Romano told the club both King Lion Ralph Cooper and Lion Duncan are actively pursuing new members. Lion Duncan offered a form all can use to track visitations this Lion year.

Members discussed their roles as both officers or board members and active club members for the coming year – including highway clean-up (Lion Ken Romano is looking at September because of summer travel and recent foul weather) and fundraising.

Lion Karen Keyes volunteered to ask the manager of the Glory Days in Barcroft if we could conduct a White Cane Day on a Saturday outside the restaurant. Lion Tejas Patel said he is still working for a Lions Night during the upcoming Annandale High School soccer season.

Lion Wendell Keyes presented the June 2019 Treasurer’s Report. During it, he noted the club donated 1,845 stamps and 150 pairs of glasses in Fiscal Year 2018-19. Lion Lisa Romano added the club donated several hundred used prescription bottles. The Treasurer’s Report (as amended) was unanimously approved.

Lion Patel reported the club’s website and facebook page are updated regularly. He reminded members to report their activities and, as King Lion Cooper has often told us, take photos of those good deeds. Lion Patel said he will be sending an email survey in the next couple of days asking members about what activities or causes you would like to see our club consider for future involvement.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:35
