The Cheyenne Sunrise Lions Club was founded in December of 1973 – celebrating 50 years of service to the Cheyenne community, the state of Wyoming, the Rocky Mountain region and the World.

Our club has been a leader in the Wyoming Lions organization (District 15 of Lions Clubs International) having provided eight district governors and one International Director during our history.

Our Ride for Sight event held each August since 1993 provides a safe and healthy activity for the community and the region while raising thousands of dollars to be used for a variety of Lions service projects such as the Early Childhood Vision Screening Program, the Allen H. Stewart Lions Camp and Summer School for Visually Impaired Youth, the Lions of Wyoming Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank and Institute, Leader Dogs for the Blind and Lions Clubs International Foundation.

Additionally, the club provides assistance to local citizens with the purchase of glasses and hearing aids as well as the cost of eye surgeries and other vision and hearing related issues.

Our miniature train has been giving rides to three generations of children since 1982.
