SPOTLIGHT ON COMMUNITY SERVICE - 2025
Food Packaging for our Community
This project involved two phases of food packaging with the Fairfield Glade Lions Club working in concert with the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church to package more than 40,000 meals for distribution to food banks serving Crossville and Cumberland County people. On March 27, 2025, we packaged more than 20,000 breakfast-type meals. This phase was planned and paid for by the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, and was conducted in the church Fellowship Hall. Over 25 Lions from our club participated.
On May 31, 2025, we packaged more than 20,000 soup-style meals. This phase was planned and paid for by Lions via the DCG grant and club funds, and held in the UMC Fellowship Hall with members of the congregation helping out.
Volunteer Opportunity: Whether you are a LION now or have interest in what we do in service to our community, perhaps you have a couple hours to help with our biggest service projects.
We are needing volunteers to join us at various schools around the county to perform simple vision and hearing screenings on the students. Reach out to Lion Rick Borghi (vision) at: sborghi2006@jps.net or Clark Zedric (hearing) at clarkzedric@aol.com for more information.
The Fairfield Glade Lions Club was chartered on March 22, 1976 and has grown to be one of the most active and largest clubs in Tennessee. The Lion’s Club motto is: “We serve.” We take that motto seriously.
We welcome you to join one of our dinner meetings, held on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM to meet us and learn how to get involved while making new friends.
