The Fenwick Island Lions Club – serving Fenwick Island, Roxana, Selbyville and South Bethany extends our sincere wishes to all for a Happy New Year!
Our club is an organization of 68 like-minded individuals, men and women who enjoy helping others! Making a difference in our communities and in the lives of others is what the Fenwick Island Lions Club and Lionism is all about. We extend an invitation to all area residents and visitors to join us at one of our meetings. The meal and meeting provide an excellent opportunity for fellowship and good food.
A sampling of or service:
Deliver approximately 6,450 meals and good cheer to homebound seniors through or Meals-On-Wheels program.
Provide vision screening for over 600 are preschool and kindergarten age children.
Award approximately $12,000.00 in scholarships to deserving seniors from the Indian River High School.
Sponsor the Indian River High School Leo Club, a student directed service organization. Help oversee service projects involving as many as 200 club members in the 9th to 12th grades.
Deliver many food items to local food pantries collected at our meetings.
Collect used eye glasses that are provided to disadvantaged individuals in developing countries.
Provide financial support for those who are in need of obtaining eye and hearing exams, glasses and hearing aids working through the Pyle Center of Roxana.
Participate in “Wreaths Across America” tribute at the Millsboro Veteran Cemetery along with the Indian River High School Leo Club.
Sponsor and coordinate the Selbyville Halloween Parade-a cherished tradition and celebration of small town America.
Provide financial support for the improvements to the infrastructure at Camp Barnes which included the rehabilitation of a cabin, modernizing the kitchen, community hall, and the bathrooms. This camp is a free camp for Delaware youth, run by the Delaware State Police to allow campers to develop initiative and leadership skills necessary to accomplish tasks.
Bake more than 125 dozen cookie and present them to approximately 35 veterans and their families participating in the local initiative “Operation Seas the Day”.
Assist with the annual Beach Clean-up at Fenwick Island.
Conduct fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds to support local charities.
