Community Event of the Year Award awarded to Flinders Motoring Heritage.

Flinders District Lions Club has been awarded the Australia Day 2022, Mornington Peninsula Community Event of the Year, for the Flinders Motoring Heritage event conducted on Easter Sunday in 2021! This is great recognition of the Club’s work over recent years and its commitment to serve the community and support Peninsula Health.

Flinders District Lions wish to thank the event sponsors: Kallus Kenny Intelex, Community Bank-Balnarring and District Bendigo Bank, RT Edgar Mornington Peninsula, the Flinders Hotel, Blue Print Printers and Porsche Centre Brighton, amongst others. Contributions to Peninsula Health have been more than $100,000.00 over 5 years as a result. We look forward to welcoming them again at the 2022 event at Easter.

Flinders District Lions Club manage the Flinders Motoring Heritage fundraising event to encourage visitors to Flinders and to raise funds for Peninsula Health for specific projects. The funds raised in 2021 helped purchase foetal heart monitors for the Special Care Nursery.

The event hosts a display of unique veteran, vintage, classic and modern motor cars and bikes all displayed throughout the pretty Flinders Village. Now in its 6th year, the number of entrants and visitors has grown with up to 200 vehicles, over 2,000 visitors and will be run again in 2022

The Club manages the event, taking care of car exhibitors, sponsorships, parking and administration with its team of Club members and many community volunteers. Community groups and local businesses are also encouraged to become involved.
