The Fruitland Park Lions Club mourns the passing of our member

Wallace Earl Hoffman

Dr. Wallace Earl Hoffman
January 16, 1932 – March 23, 2024

Dr. (LTC) Wallace Earl Hoffman, 92, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 4:25 PM at Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont  with his son Earl Hoffman and daughter-in-law Michelle Hoffman by his side.

An Air Force Reserve aircraft pilot for 25 years, Wallace retired from the Reserves in 1981 as a C-130 Weather Reconnaissance “Hurricane Hunter” pilot. During his Air Force Reserve career, and for several decades after, Wallace was also a school teacher, instructing students in several different subjects from middle school to college level classes. Wallace was also a 66-year member of the Lion’s Club International and an active member of Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Wallace was preceded in his death by his wife of 61 years, Daisy McCoy Hoffman. He is survived by his three children, Christie Ruppel, Forrest Hoffman, and Earl Hoffman, and six grandchildren, Karin, Nathaniel, Emily, Timothy, Maxwell, and Zachary.
