  20th Annual Groundhog Day On Hollywood Beach Friday February 2, 2023

 

HOLLYWOOD, FL – Revelers at Hollywood’s silliest annual event hit the beach  in February, starting off Groundhog Day festivities with a hearty breakfast before taking their traditional ocean plunge at the same time weather forecasting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil predicts the end of winter in a live stream to Hollywood Beach

It must be time for the 20th Annual Groundhog Day on Hollywood Beach , a time-honored tradition celebrating hope for a warmer tomorrow – or at least a significant warm-up by noon. The event will take place on Friday, February 2^nd, 2024 from 6:30-8:00 a.m. at Blue Wave Gastropub , located at 901 N. Broadwalk (at A1A & Indiana Street) on the world-famous Hollywood Beach Broadwalk.

The legendary Groundhog Swim will be at 7:30 a.m. A $15 donation includes breakfast from Chef Jorge and the Blue Wave team.

Proceeds benefit the Hollywood Beach Lifeguard Competition Team  and the Hollywood Lions Club Scholarship Fund  

  Sponsors include The Blue Wave, Beach Bum Chapter of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, Koffee Kult, South Florida Video, Hollywood Lions Club, Hollywood Parks and Recreation, Cahoots Newspaper and Asta Parking

 

No Groundhog Day bash would be complete without a special appearance by Punxsutawney Phil and live coverage of Groundhog Day from Punxsutawney, PA., The Weather Capital of the World. The event culminates with some of the heartiest souls taking a traditional dip in the Atlantic Ocean, which can dip to 76 chilly degrees!.

  Children of all ages are welcome!

Free Parking 6:30a.m 8:30a.m at lot on corner of A1A and Indiana Street courtesy of ASTA parking. Parking  before or after these hours is subject to parking charge.
