Welcome to the web site for the Houston Cy-Fair Lions Club. The Cy-Fair Lions Club was organized January 22, 1957 by Texas Lions State Secretary, Marlow Fisher, and chartered April 23, 1957. When the Club was chartered, Thirty-one Lions were inducted and dedicated to larger service for mankind through Lionism. The charter banquet was held at Brenner's Steak House on Katy Highway, (now I-10), with 220 Lions and guests attending. President, Frank Loftin, accepted the Charter from District Governor, Dr. W. M. Jones, on behalf of the Cy-Fair Lions Club. A flag set, gong and gavel were presented to the Club from Lion, Mel Wolfe, President of the sponsoring Spring Branch Lions Club. International Director, Joe Childers, (Texas) was the keynote speaker. The motto of all Lions Clubs is "WE SERVE". Our club has been serving the Cy-Fair community since 1957. We have a long history of donating to charitable projects. During our 50 years of existence, we have contributed over $ 100,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors of the Cy-Fair ISD. We also purchase approximately 200 pair of new eye glasses annually for students in the Cy-Fair ISD. We have manufactured a wheelchair ramp for a student so she could get from her house to the school bus; purchased an electric wheelchair for an adult; assisted in the purchase of a ramp for a van so a child could have access to the family vehicle; and sponsored numerous children to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville.
