Outstanding Youth In Leadership Award

Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. We have more than 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs worldwide. 

Where there's a need, there's a Lion. Our mission is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs. 

In keeping with the mission of Lions internationally, the Lions Club of Kingsville offers

The Outstanding Youth in Leadership Award

The award is offered annually to successful applicants based on the selection criteria.

Candidates must:

  • Be a graduating student of Kingsville District High School
  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution
  • Have completed a minimum of 100 hours of Community Service, verified by KDHS.
  • Have demonstrated good character and leadership in their performance of community service as defined by the qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership - Decisiveness and Accomplishment
  • Selflessness - Compassion and Commitment
  • Support - Teaches and Facilitates

The candidate selected to receive the award will be chosen in May of each year. The award will be given to the selected candidate during the KDHS convocation ceremony.

Process:

The Lions Club of Kingsville will establish a selection committee to receive applications from KDHS.

  • Candidates will apply using the application attached and will submit, along with their application, a brief essay outlining how they demonstrated the traits described in the qualifications listed above in their performance of community service.
  • Candidates will provide 2 letters of reference in support of their application.
  • Candidates will agree to be interviewed by the Kingsville Lions Club selection committee.
