Our Social committee orgnaise this aspect of our activities and they are always keen to get ideas and comments from members so that, while not generally possible to please everybody, they know that the programme they put together for Lions and their Ladies will have general approval and therefore ensure good turn outs.

Our 3 regular events are:

Handover: Held end June when the outgoing President hands over to his Vice President at either a Bar B Q lunch or Afternoon tea held, as it has been for many years, in a Member's delightful garden in Kelmscott

AnnualLadies Lunch: Held in May, usually at a local hostelry, when we thank our ladies and outside members of the community as relevant, for the help and support they have given us in the past 12 months.

Christmas Draw: Held on the Thursday before Christmas, at our Meeting venue, when the Ladies join us, the Draw is made and we have supper together.... it is generally felt that this heralds the start of our Christmas festivities.

Thereafter, our Social calendar will usually include some of the following

A country walk concluding with a Pub lunch, a Skittles evening including supper, a Curry evening, a Wine Tasting evening, a Safari Supper, a friendly Petanque match against our local U3A group, an evening of Dog Racing at Swindon including supper and possibly an outside visit.

The objective of Lionism is to give something back to our Community AND to enjoy ourselves while doing it!
