The good news! - we have started meeting face to face again at our regular venue, the George Hotel in Lichfield, and our branch meeting at the Holland Sports Club, Barton under Needwood ............

The bad news!...............

We will shortly be looking to invite people with a community spirit, who wish to help once the situation returns to normal, to meet with the Lions, to see if you would be interested in joining us.

If you are interested, contact our membership officer, Lion Pam Trevena, on 01827 706 591, or pam.trevena@gmail.com

                                       - - - - - - -

We have now helped more than 50 families with domestic items since Lockdown began, and hope to continue this aid, when funds permit, continuing Lichfield Lions long history of helping these in the community who needs are greatest.

We have been advised that our 'Lichfield Angel' Elaine Hutchins, of Helping each other, Lichfield, has secured a donation of £1,000.00 from engineering and construction company, J Murphy. This donation will allow us to continue supplying white goods and furnishing to help relocate abused families.

Great news! We have received a very welcome joint donation of £1,000.00 from the Shenstone Car Club and the Curborough Sprint Course, through the good offices of Elaine Hutchins - it's very welcome, and will be put to good use by Lichfield Lions.

Despite Lockdown, Lichfield Lions continued to help in the community.

Here are some examples:

Funding white goods and beds for needy local families moving  into new accomodation.

Donating funds to St Giles Hospice - the latest donation is for £1,000.00.

Live at Home grocery delivery, prescriptions, library books and laptops.

Lichfield Talking Newspaper for the blind.

Macular Club.

Lichfield Lions also have a branch club in Barton under Needwood

We want to do more - we need people to join Lions [maybe helping out with the lockdown has given you a taste for community service], and of course, we need funds - many of the regular giving Charities have not been accepting requests for grants or donations, so we have been doing our best to fund helping these less fortunate than us in other ways.

We would love to hear from you if you can offer us to help these less fortunate than us.

We also are looking to try to continue our social events -   we are by nature, a gregarious lot!
