Lions Club of International (LCI) had officially born on 7^th June,1917. The beacon behind the transformation of a luncheon group of Businessmen in Chicago to a network of individuals dedicated to work towards betterment of the communities, is Mr. Melvin Jones.

"Lions are an active and efficient medium for united effort and enterprise. They are an outstanding force of national and world service, exerting tremendous influence for national welfare, international amity and peace, and human progress socially, culturally and economically. The prestige and importance of Lions’ work in all fields of service endeavors is recognized throughout the entire world ."

Lions Club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community, and internationally. They conduct free vision and health screenings, assist youth, award scholarships, provide help in time of disaster and much more. The Lions Club of Muqdisho is an incorporated charity comprised of service minded individuals who meet regularly to support projects such as;

rural community support
