PHILANTHROPY - 2017
work year round to raise funds
to benefit our international and local community.
We encourage continuing education
by granting scholarships to deserving local youth,
and we strive to see that our local citizens
get a helping hand-up when needed
through our Community Needs committee.
We sponsor and organize the annual Priest Lake Health Fair
which includes the Sacred Heart Women’s Van,
the Lions Sight and Hearing Van and the Blood Drive Van.
The following are examples of community activities
benefitting from Kaniksu Lions fundraising:
• Priest Lake Fishing Derby for Kids
• Priest Lake Ambulance and EMS programs
• Priest Lake Groomer Committee
• Priest Lake Hospice
• Chuck Sterns “Memorial Turkey Shoot”
• Priest Lake Student College Scholarships
• Priest Lake Holiday Food Baskets
• Camp Stix, Diabetic Camp
In addition, local Lions contribute to world-wide Lions projects
such as Lions Leader Dogs, Canine Companions for Independence,
Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, Lions Club International Foundation
and C.A.R.E.
including participation in the Priest Lake Spring Festival,
Summer Fresh Fruit Sales, the Chuck Sterns Memorial Turkey Shoot,
the Firewood Sale and, of course, the annual Lions Roar Dinner and Auction,
the Kaniksu/Coolin Branch Lions Club is at the forefront of addressing community and international needs.
