Rootstown Township Lions Club

The Rootstown Township Lions Club was Chartered February 20, 1957, and was sponsored by the Ravenna Lions Club.  Our mission is eye care and our motto is "We Serve".  Lions Club was founded in 1917 by Melvin Jones and became an international organization in 1920.

In 1925 at an International Convention, Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become "Knights of the Blind in the crusade against Darkness".  Since that time, service to the blind and visually impaired has become one of the Lion's most significant missions.
