It is with a heavy heart, and will probably come as no surprise to anyone, that due to the COVID 19 pandemic we are announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Dragon Boat season in Wellington. This includes the Dragon Boat Festival that would have been held in August.
The decision is in compliance with the Province’s ban on public gatherings of more than 10 people. Even if the 10 people were increased to 20, there would still be the requirement to socially distance ourselves by 6 feet and that would be difficult in a dragon boat!
Although difficult, this is the right decision as the health and safety of all dragon boat club members must take priority.
We will keep you informed through Facebook and by email if we are able to gather over the fall/winter for our much loved Dragon Boat breakfasts at Baileys and we anticipate being up and running again in 2021 so stay tuned!
