The aim of our club is to support local Charities/deserving causes in Winterton and surrounding District, which covers all 13 villages in our area.

History of Lions Clubs
The Lions Clubs are 100 years old this year and began in 1917 when a Chicago business man believed local businesses should expand their horizons from just professional concerns to the betterment of their communities and the world at large. The business circle of Chicago liked the idea and further explored the this through similar groups and at the first meeting the "Association of Lions Clubs" came into existence. Their first national convention was in Dallas in October 1917 and 22 Clubs from 9 states were there to approve the 'Lions Clubs'The establishment of the first Lions Club in Britain was some years later in London in 1950.
The International Association of Lions Clubs is the largest Service Club organisation in the world with over 1.3 million members in more than 46,000 clubs in 202 countries. The British Isles have 944 Clubs and 20,000 members whose primary purpose is to serve those in need.
