International Peace Poster Contest
Each year the Woodbury Lions Club takes part in the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest in which more than 350,000 kids (ages 11,12, & 13) worldwide take part.  The 2016-2017 theme was "A Celebration of Peace".  Participants use a variety of media, including charcoal, crayon, pencil and paint, to express the theme.  The works created are unique and express the young artists' life experiences and culture.    The posters are judged on originality, expression of the theme, and artistic merit.  In Woodbury, 3 to 5 local artists judge the posters submitted from our different schools and organizations.  We then send the winning poster from each school to our Lions District level contest.  So far 2012 was our biggest turnout ever with more than 410 students in the city of Woodbury taking part in the contest.  We award the city wide student winner $100 and that student’s school will receive a $300 gift certificate to purchase art supplies.
