Martisco Lions was founded in 1973.
We serve the area protected by the Fire Departments of Amber, Borodino, Marcellus, Otisco, Navarino and Spafford.
Our primary focus is Sight and Diabetes. We help those in need of vision exams and eye glasses. We collect eye glasses to be sorted and distributed in underserved areas.
We also help fire and accident victims, provide scholarships for Marcellus High School graduates.
We maintain an athletic field for Marcellus youth lacrosse.
We donate money to the Golisano Childrens Hospital at Upstate Medical Center and University.,
and to local fire departments and food pantries.
Our primary fundraisers are:
A Duck Race and Family Fun Days in Marcellus Park the third Sunday in August and
A Ham and Turkey Raffle at the Marcellus Fire Dept. the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
