Sunday, November 5th will be the Lions fall pancake breakfast at the Aston Community Center.  Hope to see you all there.


At a recent meeting of the Aston Lions Club our speakers were Karen Newburg and Lindsey Wiley.  They spoke on the Pennell Elementary School's Autistic Support and Life Skills Program.  They have needs for several items for their classrooms.  The Aston Lions and Williamson Trade School are working on a project to aid these teachers and students.  If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, call one of these teachers at Pennell Elementary School.


      The Lions continue to loan walkers, wheel chairs, canes, and other medical equipment.  Very few days go by without someone getting a LOAN OF SOME PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.  NO CHARGE, IF YOU WISH YOU MAY MAKE A DONATION IT WILL BE APPRECIATED.  LIONS DO NOT RECEIVE ANY REMUNERATION FOR THESE SERVICES.


     Lions Honor our Man In Blue, Michael Castagliuolo as Aston Townships Policeman of the Year.  Officer Castagliuolo was introduced by Police Chief (Lion) Dan Ruggieri.  The Lions presented the Chief with a check for $200.  The club gave our Man In Blue a gift card in the amount of $100.  

We wish officer Castagliuolo success in all future endeavors.  Good health and Gods speed.


     At a recent meeting, the Aston Lions honored the Aston Township Fire Deparments Fire Person of the Year,  Jeffrey Stwart, Jr. and EMT of the year, Tabitha Guthrie.  President, Robert Shufelt presented Chief, Mike Evans a check in the amount of $200 for use as the ATFD choses. The Aston Lions presented the EMT of the Year, Tabitha and fire person of the year Jeffrey a gift card in the amount of $100 each. (See photo page for photos.)

White Cane Days! 

You may have noted that the Aston Lions Club do not have their "White Cane Days" in October.  In lieu of these days, many businesses have permitted the club to put collection containers in their places of business.
