Meetings

Unfortunatly, some people who request hospital items, do not seem to be aware that our men are volunteers who give of their time, and the use of their vehicles to help deliver and pick up these items.  We are NOT a business.  Please keep this in mind when you request a delivery or pick up.  We get requests from all of Delaware County and some from Northern Delaware.  If you have a vehicle or someone to assist, service may be quicker.

Thanks to ALL who attended our recent Pancake Breakfast, Bingo Night and Boscov's Day.   Your support is greatly apprecited.

The Aston Leo Club meets at Sun Valley High School, come out and join this great group of young people.  The Leo club took $50 of their funds and went to Fair Acres to play BINGO with some of the residents.  Do they love playing BINGO FOR CASH? The Leo recently helped with the Lions Pancake Breakfast.  The funds earned from thier bake sale are used for community service.

On April 5th the Aston Lions presented Paul J. Maletsky with the highest award given by the club, the Melvin Jones Award.  This award is named after the founder of the Lions.  It has now become an International Organization that celebrated their 100th Anniversary in 2017.

Paul has served as 3rd, 2nd, 1st Vice Presidents and as President during the 2002 - 2003 Lions year.

He has served on various committees as chairman and working member:  pancake breakfast, used eye glasses, aluminum recycling and other committees.  He lettered and painted the used mailbox located in the Village Green Shopping Center where used eye glasses may be deposited.

The Aston Lions wish Paul many more years of service to the club and the community.

See Paul's picture with 2nd Vice President Tom Haugh presenting him the plaque and pin on our photo page.  You will also see the current members who are Melvin Jones recipients on the same photo page.

The Lions continue to loan walkers, wheel chairs, canes, and other medical equipment.  Very few days go by without someone getting a LOAN OF SOME PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.  NO CHARGE, IF YOU WISH YOU MAY MAKE A DONATION IT WILL BE APPRECIATED.  LIONS DO NOT RECEIVE ANY REMUNERATION FOR THESE SERVICES.

We have been loaning hospital equipment for many years.  If you know anyone in need, see our contact page.

If you have students at Sun Valley High School, the Leo Club is looking for any students wishing to serve the school community and surrounding areas.  Lion Frank Burgess, Lioness Harriet Reynolds, Lioness Michelle Donato, are the advisors, may be contacted by calling 610-344-3491.  All students are welcome to come out and see what the Leo Club is all about.

White Cane Days!

You may have noted that the Aston Lions Club do not have their "White Cane Days" in October.  In lieu of these days, many businesses have permitted the club to put collection containers in their places of business.

Please support our blind projects by placing a donation in our containers.
