Meetings

General membership meetings are held on 2nd and 4th Monday evenings at the

Warm Hearth Village Center, Blacksburg, VA.

PURPOSE: Dedicated to the service of community, state, and country, with particular emphasis on the prevention of blindness, the conservation of sight, and the conservation of hearing. The Club's purpose is stated succinctly by the motto of all members of LIONS INTERNATIONAL --
 "WE SERVE."

The Blacksburg Host Lions Club was chartered by Lions International in 1925, and has given continuous service to the community since that time. The Club will celebrated its 90th anniversary during March 2015. Since receiving its charter, the Club has sponsored the organization of three other Lions Clubs: In 1932, it sponsored the Pearisburg Lions Club, in 1942, the Christiansburg Lions Club, and the Blacksburg Breakfast Lions Club in 1972. When the second Blacksburg Lions club was chartered, the Blacksburg Lions Club became known as the Blacksburg Host Lions Club.

The Club participates in various fund raising activities to support its service activities. All funds raised go to support those service activities (club projects).
