Burnham on sea and District Lions hand over £1,700 to good causes.
At the annual presentation night held at The Oak Tree Arena, cheques were presented to
Burnham Infants School - received £100
Brass 4 Youth - received £100
Burnham transplant athlete Romana Winston - received £500
And the towns RNLI - received £1,000
Tesco Collection on behalf of R.N.L.I. raising a total of £960.52p

Good weather and an excellent range of entertainment was enjoyed by all.
Over £1,000 raised for charity.

CARNIVAL QUEEN AND PRINCESS CEREMONY 2010
OPENED BY THE MAYOR OF BURNHAM-ON-SEA MICHAEL CLARKE.

Sixteen year old, Anna Kevan was selected by four judges, Malcolm Borland, Mike Barsby, Julie West and Dawn Grey to lead this years, Highbridge and Burnham on sea Carnival Parade, Monday November 8th as Carnival Queen.
She will be accompanied by two Princesses, Katrina Doyle and Agatha Parrott who were also chosen on the night.

Sunday 11th July at the Oak tree arena was Presidency change over day from Lion Colin Rufus to Lion Scott Walsh.

Crowds of young people from the Burnham On Sea and Highbridge area flocked to the town’s annual Youth Festival on Sunday July 14th

Overseen by Burnham’s Youth Town Council in association with Burnham Lion’s, the event included a wide range of entertainment and displays for youngsters.
The event, was officially opened by Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke.
The Festival included live music throughout the afternoon from Burnham bands and musicians, including Busy Backgrounds and Ashley Matthews.
The event also included a circus skills display, Free Running demonstrations, Jujitsu workshops, Air, Sea and Army demonstrations, a climbing tower, plus rowing and fitness tests in addition to a bouncy castle and a barbecue.
Other groups who took part included Highbridge Shed Youth Café, who offered high-tech games and entertainment, plus Highbridge Dreamscheme, Burnham Lion’s, The Bay Dancers, BARB and the Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy.
