Florida Fruit & Nut Sales

The Club conducts a Fruit and Nut sale once a month from November thru March each year.  We sell fresh Florida Grapefruit and a variety of oranges;  i/e navels, honeybells, murcots, temples), plus a variety of nuts, plus Benson Fruit Cakes,  on one Saturday,  from 10AM till 1PM.  Pick up is held at Community United Methodist Church, 8680 Ft. Smallwood Rd, in Pasadena, MD.  These monthly sales are our major club fund raiser to support our sight and sound projects in the local Pasadena community.

Car Raffle

Each year, we participate with other District 22A Lions Clubs in selling raffle tickets (from June thru early October)  for a major District fund raiser.  A 2011 Chevy Equinox 1LT or $18,000 and 12 - $500 cash prizes are raffled off.  Each club benefits as 1/2 of the ticket sales goes to the local club.  The actual drawing is held on 26 December each year at Dover Mall, in Dover DE. This is a big celebration with thousands attending.

 High School Scholarship Program

Each June, we give two $500.00 "Book" scholarships to a deserving senior student at Chesapeake and Northeast High schools to help defray the cost of "books" used in their freshman year of college. This is well received event that is held at a dinner meeting with parents in attendance.
