Lions Park in Fort Atkinson, WI (built and maintained by Lions)
Lions Park on October 12, 2013 at the dedication of a plaque to honor Gus Klatt, one of our greatest Lions ever, and his friend Pat Abendroth. The plaque commemorates Erwin “Gus” Klatt and R.C. “Pat” Abendroth, representing the State of Wisconsin, who in 1976 traveled in this “Prairie Schooner” wagon pulled by horses, along with a wagon train eventually composed of all fifty states, from Wisconsin to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania to celebrate our country’s bicentennial year. The trip took over two months. To learn more about this trip from Gus himself, click on the following video.
