Redistricting Information-August 28 Revision
Thankfully, the latest redistricting proposal would combine us with other western slope areas and some of the more rural parts of Boulder County, rather than with Larimer County. Boulder County relies on eastern slope water and (unlike Larimer County) isn't after our water. Please follow this link to the July 28 maps showing the latest proposals: map. follow the link to this simple form. For the latest information on this topic, go to http://www.skyhidailynews.com/ and type "redistricting" into the search box in the upper right area of the page. For the actual form to send to the redistricting gods, click on Redistricting and follow the instructions on the form.

September 1 Breakfast Meeting

Today's guest speaker, Alan Somerfeld, will discuss the response by NORAD to the September 11 attacks and the changes in the military since then. Alan was inside the NORAD bomb-proof facility at Cheyenne Mountain when the 9/11 attack took place and actually was the person who received the official instructions from Washington. After the meeting, Jerry will have the new web site up on a big screen and will do a demonstration and answer any questions about the web site.

WP Chamber Volunteer Fundraising Results

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce asked Lions Club and other local nonprofits to provide volunteers for numerous events throughout the summer. Lions Club volunteers stepped up and earned roughly $1,700 for Lions Club. That's more than any other organization! Thanks to Jill Childress for coordinating our volunteers. Without Jill, we would have been terribly uncoordinated.

Lions Club Foundation Donates $16,000

Almost all the money stayed in our valley.  For a list of the organizations we funded, please see the Downloads section of this web page. The Lions Club raises money through our members' efforts including selling pancakes, managing local Forest Service Campgrounds, working ski races at the Winter Park Resort and various other projects. This is what we do with the money we raise! If you want to have a positive effect in your community please join us!
