Kottayam Lions club was chartered in 1961.This is one of the first clubs in Kerala,India.The club has 44 members at present.They meet on 2nd and 4th wednesdays of every month.
They have sponsored three clubs.
The main charity projects are the ICCONS CENTRE and the VIKS VIDYALAYA for the differently abled children.Both institutions are housed in their own building near Kottayam railway station.
Medicare card project to help the poor patients to buy medicines is another well acclaimed project.
They are also supporting the visually challenged children of school for the blind near Kottayam town.
