Lions Meeting of August 21, 2013 for Sept 4, 2013

Present Steve Acquino, Jim Bottorf, Phil Gibson, Stuart Hall, Ralph Kalbach, DuWayne Kunes, Bob Larsen, George McKInney, Judge Miller, Phil Rinella, Ed Higgens, Mark Schlessinger, Kline Williams, Woozy Walker, Jim Hanna.  Guests 3. Dave Masters, Lee Switzer, Dave’s M son.

Location: Masters River Lot. President George McKinney presiding.

  1. Thanked  Dave Masters for hosting this meeting at his river lot.
  2. REGATTA – The list for workers is being circulated. Need help on Monday night.
  3. REGATTA- Mark the Shark will be broadcasting on the radio sat afternoon (WSQV)and will interview Kline Williams to see if we can get the interest of some out there to join the club.
  4. Tee shirts – The club is absorbing all costs for the Tee shirts. Ralph iswaiting for some sizes. 1st Jim B, 2nd R Larsen, all.
  5. We have the application for the “Small Game of Chance” but needs to be filled out. The application must best  signed by President and Secy and these 2 must be cleared of all criminal records by the State Police. These are somewhat new regulations by the State.
  6. Tin Can Project – Jim Bottorf and Phil Rinella will work up a plan.
  7. Discs for the Police. After much discussion the request was scrubbed but the club agreed to purchase 4 Throw Bags to be used by  Emergency Personnel when there is a crisis at the river.
  8. Lift Chair- John Hiney said that there was no further  response from Ms F regarding her request for a lift chair. However the Howard club has many chairs, walkers, canes for use but all the lift chairs were in use.
  9. Hi Neighbor Project – We are manning the Picnic stand for the Hi Neighbor project on 9/20 and 9/21. We need 2 people on each shift. Lion Ed Higgens is the chair of this project with help from Jim Bottorf.
  10. Treasury Report General $2,785.51 and Charity Fund $2,548.64. First Stuart Hall, Phil Gibson, All
  11. Secy Report – Thank you note recived from Meritt Hall.
  12. NCSS- request for funds was denied. 1st Steve Acquino, 2nd Dave Dale, All
  13. Future fund raiser – the Whiskey rebellion in December. We need 1500 tickets at a cost of $200. Phil G wll contact the Donald Walker Funeral Home for sponsorship.  (CONFIRMED)
