SPRING  FLEA  MARKET:  MAY  11, 2019

It may be January/February but it is not too early to think about our Spring Flea Market on May 11 at Macungie Park.  Our long time chairperson, Lion Ron Bechtel, has decided to pass the chairmanship on to others in the club. Lion Ron will still be on hand to assist in any way he can so our new committee will not miss a beat.  The new contact person from our club will be Lion Betsy Kresge.  She may be reached by calling 484-764-7858.  We know it's early but here are a few of the details about our project.

Date:  Saturday, May 11, 2019

Time:  Opens to the public at 8:00 AM...closes at 2:00 PM (Vendors can enter at 6:00 AM and should be set up by 7:30 AM)

Lot Size:  Each space provided will be 15' X 25'.  The cost per space is $20.

THERE IS NO COST TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

More details for the vendors will be coming in the near future.  As usual, a letter describing all the aspects of this event will be sent to those vendors who have previously been on the mailing list.  New vendors may call Lion Betsy Kresge  at 484-764-7858.

FOOD  BANK  DONATIONS

Our club will continue to collect food items for the Zionsville Area Food Pantry .  Lion Everett Johnson will be helping us with this effort and taking our donated items to the church.  With the help of our club, many people will have an opportunity to eat well balanced meals every day.  Our donations have been very sparse recently.  Since the holiday season will be upon us soon, please help us by bringing in some items that can be passed on to the many needy people who use this food bank.  Toiletries are especially in need at this time.

Thanks for your donations

STUDENT  EYE  GLASSES/EXAMS

Our club provides eye glasses and eye exams to needy students in the East Penn School District.  When a student has been identified as needing glasses, we set up an appointment with an eye doctor and provide a free exam.  Following the exam, if glasses are necessary, then basic ones are given to the student.  If you know of such a student, please contact one of the following:

Lion Meg Leister  at  610-928-0268  or

Lion President Jack Graff  at 610-965-4925

DAN  SCHANTZ  COUPONS

Lion Marjo Holtzhafer chairs our "Dan Schantz Coupon" project.  Each Lion has coupons that can be given to friends and family.  With each coupon presented with a minimum purchase of $10, our club will receive a $2 donation.  We have been very fortunate to have earned hundreds of dollars over the past few years from this project.  Please contact any member of our club to obtain these coupons. .  We appreciate your assistance to help us "Serve our Community".
