Our Spring Flea Market is history and for the first time in 4 years, we did not have a "rain out".  Thanks to all of our vendors, patrons, sponsors and club members for making this event so successful.  our club's new chairperson was  Lion Betsy Kresge.  She and her organizing committee of Lions Phil Kresge, Heather Day and Christine Scheaffer did an excellent job of putting it all together.  We also thank Lions Ron Bechtel and Dale Kuhns for their valuable input from past experience as committee people.

Our Flea Market Raffle was also a great success.  We thank Lion Christine Scheaffer for her hard work in seeing that each member and vendor had an opportunity to purchase some tickets.  The results were:

3rd prize     T. Kalma               Vendor          $53.80

Thanks to all for their participation.

June 15, 2019 is the date for this year's Lower Lehigh Lions Chicken Barbecue.  Lion Pete Peluso is our chairperson for this yearly project. Once again we will be selling a bake consisting of a 1/2 roasted chicken, baked potato, applesauce and a roll.  You may order from any Lion member or walk up to our location under the white tent near the Trexlertown Health Center in the Trexler Mall.  The cost of our great meal is only $9.00 and we will be operating from 11 AM until 3 PM on Saturday, June 15.

Our club will continue to collect food items for the Zionsville Area Food Pantry .  Lion Everett Johnson will be helping us with this effort and taking our donated items to the church.  With the help of our club, many people will have an opportunity to eat well balanced meals every day.  Our donations have been very sparse recently.  Since the holiday season will be upon us soon, please help us by bringing in some items that can be passed on to the many needy people who use this food bank.  Toiletries are especially in need at this time.

Thanks for your donations

Our club provides eye glasses and eye exams to needy students in the East Penn School District.  When a student has been identified as needing glasses, we set up an appointment with an eye doctor and provide a free exam.  Following the exam, if glasses are necessary, then basic ones are given to the student.  If you know of such a student, please contact one of the following:

Lion Meg Leister  at  610-928-0268  or

Lion President Jack Graff  at 610-965-4925

Lion Marjo Holtzhafer chairs our "Dan Schantz Coupon" project.  Each Lion has coupons that can be given to friends and family.  With each coupon presented with a minimum purchase of $10, our club will receive a $2 donation.  We have been very fortunate to have earned hundreds of dollars over the past few years from this project.  Please contact any member of our club to obtain these coupons. .  We appreciate your assistance to help us "Serve our Community".
