Mount Pleasant Lions Club 2010-2011 Accomplishments:

1. Purchased and Installed Handicap Accessible Playground Equipment at Heritage Park

2. Sponsored 4 Campers to Attend Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville

3. Made a $5,000 Donation/Commitment ($2,500 this year and $2,500 to be paid in 2012) to the K’s for Kids Project which will provide technologically advance pediatric equipment and facility improvements to TRMC’s pediatric unit

4. Purchased 3 Life Memberships and 3 Endowment Bricks to Texas Lions Camp to honor club members at the same time benefitting the camp (Two of the bricks were memorial bricks to honor Lion Barbara Duncan and Lion L.D. Lawler, one brick honored Lion Kent Basinger as Lion of the Year, and the life memberships honored Lion Brian Nichols, Lion Marc Levesque, and Lion Daniel Souza)

5. Provided Lion volunteers and drinks/pizza for a League of Dreams game

6. Title Sponsor ($1,000) for the Special Catch Event

7. Awarded 2, $1,000 scholarships to local graduating seniors

8. Supported the 100% donation charities by donating to:

• Texas Lions Camp

• Lions Club International Foundation

• Leader Dog for the Blind

• East Texas Eye Bank

• Lions World Services for the Blind

• Texas Lions Foundation

• Texas Eyeglass Recycling Center

9. Sponsored Academic Blanket Awards and Contributed to Project Graduation for both Mt. Pleasant High School and Chapel Hill High School

10. Contributed $2,000 to the Frontier Village Project at Texas Lions Camp as well as selling over $3,000 worth of raffle tickets for the cause

11. Continued sponsorship ($250) of a child through the Titus County Child Welfare Board

12. Provided financial assistance for the Region 8 deaf education student’s end of year party

13. Provided eye exams and glasses for 38 local school children

14. Sponsored ($500) Cypress Basin Hospice’s Camp Brave Heart
