North Adams Lions Club

Chartered April 3, 1974

Local Projects:

· Provide college scholarships to two NA-J High School graduating seniors.

· Help support North Adams Heritage Day and enter a float in the parade.

· Collect used eyeglasses for use in third world countries. Provide new eye glasses to students & adults in need.

· Sponsor the NA-J Student Council in roadside pickup within the village limits twice a year.

· Support Elementary classes to camps at Kimball Camp & Camp Michindoh.

· Support Cub Scouts

· Donate to the NA-J classroom newspaper program and the school library.

· Help students attend student leadership seminars.

· Provide dinner to the Senior Citizens of the area at our December dinner meeting

· Provide Christmas Dinner baskets to the needy of our area.

· Sponsor Lions Peace Poster Contest in the NA-J Art classes. Top three winners receive a cash award. All entries receive a certificate.

· Collect and donate food items to King’s Kupboard.

· Support NA-J School Organizations (Band, FFA, Art, Student Council, etc.)

· Donate to many charitable organizations:

                        Salvation Army

                        King’s Kupboard

                        And many others

· Michigan Braille Transcribing

· Radio Talking Books 

· Diabetes Awareness

· Drug Awareness/Quest

· Hearing and Speech

· Sightmobile trailer  

· Project Kidsight

· Winter Camp for the Blind

State Projects:

· Lions Visually Impaired Youth Camp

· Penrickton Center for Handicapped Blind Children

· Lions of Michigan Foundation

· Leader Dog for the Blind

· Michigan Eye Bank and Transplantation Center

· Lions of Michigan All State Band

International Projects:
