Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
The Lions Club of Pretoria Jakaranda consists of 28 members and operates mainly in the east of Pretoria, South Africa, although members come from all over Pretoria. Our main focus is sight conservation, caring for children with special needs, and looking after the needs of the aged in our community.
We would like to increase our membership with members of the public that would like to "Serve" in our Community.
We would like prospective members to join us at our "Meet the Lion" Breakfast/Lunch or to attend some of our Projects to see what our Club is all about!
OPERATION WARM HEART - PEP BLANKETS 2011
Our Club received 200 blankets, from 6000 blankets donated to Lions, by Jakaranda 94.2. All the blankets were distributed to needy persons at Huis Berg en Dal, Huis Silversig, Irene Homes, Steve Bheko, Wielie Walie Primary School and few to our four footed friends at African Blessings, Rustfontein to keep them warm this winter.
"BLOOD DRIVE 3000"
On the 12th & 13th March 2011 Lions Clubs accross South Africa participated in a Nationwide Blood Drive with SANBS to collect 3000 units over the two days.
This initiative was successful in reaching 2270 units!

Our second Blood Drive will be on the 10th & 11th September 2011 at Atterbury Value Mart.
Really looking forward to as much support from the public to reach our goal along with SANBS!
By giving Blood you are giving Life...
