BOOKS FOR STUDENTS: Roby Lions Club provides books for every student through 5th grade. This semi-annual club project is conducted with the help of book grants obtained from First Book. Funds are raised to provide shipping of the books. This project has been going on for several years. It is so rewarding to see a child in awe that the book is theirs to take home and keep.
VISION SCANNERS: We haved raised funds for Vision Scanners to be used in our area with the school and for public screenings. Roby, Snyder and Lamesa clubs have obtained three scanners available for use in each area.
SCHOLARSHIPS and OTHER PROJECTS: As always, we provide scholarship(s) for juniors and graduating seniors on a local, district and state level. Eyeglasses are provided for students in need while used eyeglasses are collected and redistributed. Mane Event and Fisher County Junior Livestock Show are other areas we support.
Numerous other district and state projects are supported including TEXAS LIONS CAMP that offers a number of types of camps each summer, which are divided into three categories: Camps for children who have physical disabilities, camps for children who have Down Syndrome and camps for children who have type-1 diabetes. www.lionscamp.org
