Mandela Day 2011

 

 L.P. Ted and Lions Marquerite, Adri, Sharlene  and Ray delivered stationery, colouring books and crayons, pot plants and foodstuffs to the Somerset West Police Trauma Unit as per their wish list. They were thanked by Jackie Desouza and Constable Susan Jantjies.

The Ark 2011

Our visit to The Ark facility which has separate sections for men and women and can accommodate a total of 900 people. Lion Marguerite presented a cheque for R5000.00 to Dawn Storm in the women’s section and Pastor Errol Koeries in the men’s section.

Braai for the Helderberg Hospice:

 

The club organised a braai for 50 Helderberg Hospice staff which was attended by L.P. Ted,
Lions Berryoni and Ray. They were thanked by Jill Wasserfall, the Hospice Manager, and
Patrica McNaught Davis, the P.R.O.

We participated in the District 410A Christmas Party at De Grendel Farm.
We took 20 kids under the supervision of Lion Berryoni and PCC Hennie.

 Booksales at Southeys Vines

Our regular Booksales provides for regular income. These are all donated books that would have been thrown out. We believe every book has a reader waiting to be discovered. We say thank you to all the kind people that donate these books to us. You play a big part in enhancing the welfare of your community!!

 Junior Golf Day

 The Somerset West Lions Club and the Somerset West Junior Golf Developement programme had it's annual Golf Day that raised more than R15000-00 for local projects and the SWJGDP. An Article appeared in the local Helder Pos newspaper.
