Because of the Corvid - 19 virus, the dog walk will not be taking place.
However, the fundraising for this cause is still ongoing!

And the total raised so far is $1,745.00

As you are aware, there is still a great need for these guide dogs and this has not stopped due to the virus. Therefore, I am appealing for your continued support for this great cause,  which is greatly appreciated by the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog guides.

Please  e-mail me at qvgoldstein@aim.com or tdlc.a16@gmail.com for more information regarding donations to this worthy cause, making arrangements for me to pick your donation, or simply dropping a donation off at my home mail box,

All donations will receive a tax receipt from the foundation of amounts over $20.00.

Cheques should be made payable to: Lions Foundation of Canada

Thank you for your continuing support.

Event Notice – Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides

Dear Walk Organizer,

Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is fully committed to the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, clients, walk organizers, dogs and all stakeholders.

Given the current situation with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we understand you may have some questions regarding the status of the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides. With the guidelines set out by the Public Health Agency of Canada, we are cancelling our physical walk event that was to take place this spring. Although it was a difficult decision to make, the safety of the public is always our primary concern. We know lots of you were looking forward to this fundraising event so we’re excited to announce that we will instead be proceeding with a virtual walk in its place.  We will keep you posted as our plans unfold for hosting a virtual walk and rest assured we will be providing you with any support you may need in regards to participating.

In this time of physical isolation, it is important we find alternative ways to connect as a community to remain safe and healthy.  We recognize there are a number of pressing requests for support as so many people are facing health and financial challenges, and we are deeply empathetic to those situations. There are many ways to offer your support and we hope you will continue to support the work of Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides as we carry on with our mission to serve people with a physical or medical disability by providing them Dog Guides at no cost.

We still hope to be able to host walks in the fall, but at this time, the climate for that is uncertain. If you do plan to host your physical walk in the fall, please contact Andrea Stevens to update your walk details, and note that you can opt to also participate in the virtual walk as well.

Thanks so much for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We greatly appreciate all of your efforts and dedication to Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides and the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides, and stay tuned for further details about our virtual walk!

Please feel free to reach out should you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Beverly Crandell
