Why I Became A Lion

As a member of the Verona Lions Club since January 2008, I became interested in joining due to my father's involvement. His participation as a Watertown Lion since 1984 demonstrated to me that Lions Club International is a well-run organization that truly makes a difference in many people's lives.

Its focus on blindness prevention and diabetes awareness is important to me, as my grandfather suffered the effects of macular degeneration and two family members have diabetes.Becoming a Lion has given me a chance to help my community, not only with Lions-sponsored events, but also through our work with other organizations who contact our club for volunteers.
