The Viroqua Lions Club works on several projects
 and causes each year
We have currently committed significant funding for improvements at the Vernon County Museum and new exhibition building at the Vernon County Fairgrounds. A few years ago we made similar contributions for the restoration of the Temple Theater in Viroqua. These projects are aimed at making life more enjoyable right in the heart of the community that we serve.
Each year we support through funding and deeds Diabetes Screening in our local area as a means of preserving better lives and “sight” for the citizens in our area.
Each year we provide financial aid for the “Leader Dog Program” which provides a large degree of self confidence and independence for people who have lost their sight.
Each year we make it possible for local kids with handicaps and disabilities to attend Camp Rosholt with other kids of a similar background. This is a chance for these kids to be “kids” and meet other people just like themselves. These kids come away from camp with new ideas about how to handle their conditions and with knowing that they are not the only kid facing the issues they face.
In 2009 9 blind or visually impaired kids and adults from our district went to the Lions Camp for a week, 31 Cognitively Disabled kids and adults attended camp, 8 Deaf kids and adults went to camp, and 16 kids with diabetes went to camp, all at no cost to their families
Each year we support the Wisconsin Eye Bank, a Wisconsin Lions institution that makes it possible for people needing corrective measures like cornea transplants, to get this surgery.
The Viroqua Lions make it possible for local people who need eye glasses or hearing aids, but really have no way of getting them, to get them.
The Viroqua Lions make significant contributions to local Food Pantries each Holiday Season. We earn these funds at our annual Super Bowl Pancake Breakfast.
The Viroqua Lions pay to have any interested high school seniors receive CPR Training.
The Viroqua Lions Host the Viroqua High School Honors night each May.
The Viroqua Lions are a major underwriter of the Independence Day Fireworks Show at the Vernon County Fairgrounds.
At times of great local need, like during the flooding of a few years ago, Lions Club International sends thousands of dollars to our district immediately to be used to help people with problems that need attention right away.
The Viroqua Lions supports the Mission to Mexico project which takes used glasses and eye doctors to Mexico and Central America each year to outfit people with glasses who may have never seen clearly in their entire life.
The Viroqua Lions also pay the cost for one student to attend Badger State each year.
