The West Corners Lions held their Annual Pancake Breakfast on 2-12-2012.along with the West Corners Lioness bake sale. Over 260 meals were served with proceeds helping the U.E.school bowling teams and community youth activities..
On 1-05-2012, D.G. Lion Joe DeFina visited the West Corners Lions Club. During his visit , he inducted a new member (Lion Jim Prebulick) into the WC Lions Club. DG Lion Joe gave a brief ,informative presentation. King Lion Lawrence presented DG Lion Joe with a check for his project.(Ronald MacDonald House)
The West Corners Lions held their social Christmas Dinner,/gathering on 12-2-2011.The food was great with many stories being told which was enjoyed by all.The turn out was great.
On 11-17-2011, the West Corners Lions, Lioness and friends served over 200 meals to Seniors at the Broome West Senior Center. This is the 12th year for this Lions and Lioness community service project.
Once again, November will be a very busy month for the W.C. Lions club. On Nov. 12, a successful Chicken B.Q., chaired by PDG Lion Dave Rutkowski, was held. Great job PDG Dave! On Nov. 17, the W.C. Lions and Lioness will be serving Thanksgiving Dinner to the Seniors at Broome West Senior Center. On Nov. 19, chaired by Lion Dave O'Loughlin, the Lions will be distributing Thanksgiving food baskets to needy families in the W.C. service area. And on Nov.26 , Christmas trees will be delivered and our annual Christmas tree sale, chaired by Lion Ed Kicsak, will begin
At their 6-21 club meeting, the West Corners Lioness Club inducted their 2011-2012 club officers, The officers are as follows:P Barb Perry, Pres.,Shirley Morgus, 1st V.P., Jan Barniak, 2nd V.P., Jane Moretin, Sect., Lucelle Fetsko, Treas., Jereane Williams, Tail Twister, and Peggy Beach, Sunshine Chairman. The Lioness have served the West Corners area for over 30 yrs.
On 5-14-2011, the WC Lions held another Chicken BQ. A good turn out of club members sold 300 halves of chicken . The Chicken BQ is fast becoming a club favorite . See "members only" section for financial results.
The W.C. Lioness celebrated their 30 Anniversary on 5-13-2011. Charted on 1-21-1981, the Lioness Club is a strong activity of the WC Lions Club and is the oldest Lioness Club in Lions district 20Y1.
On 5-7-2011 ,the West Corners Lions Club with the help of the West Corners Leo's club served over 1200 hot dogs along with drink to the athletics of the Broome /Tigoa Special Olympics . The WC Lions club has been a part of the worthy community project for over 16 years. "We Serve"
