Lions, Making a Difference, Everyday, Everywhere!

The men and women of the Westmont Lions have been proudly serving their community since the club's founding in 1943. We invite you to learn more about our club's activities by exploring our website. Please click on the Calendar link to learn when our meetings and events will be held. You can also find us on Facebook @WestmontNJLions.

ENRICHING OUR COMMUNITY
Whether it is hosting the Haddon Township Halloween Parade or the Easter Bunny Meet & Greet, or serving a Thanksgiving dinner to the seniors at the Rohrer Towers, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of our neighbors. Our club supports local Food Banks through both donations and manpower and supports other local needs as they arise. Each year we invite student volunteers from our local high schools to help us with our projects to foster their interest in helping others, and offer Scholarships to graduating students.

SIGHT PRESERVATION
We provide free vision screenings annually to hundreds of children in our local schools through the Lions KidSight USA program, and offer follow up eye care to those in need. Our fundraisers support many local organizations that help improve vision such as the local Eyebank AltruVision. Our club also collects used eye glasses that are cleaned, refurbished and distributed to those in need through the New Jersey Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center.

KNIGHTS OF THE BLIND
In a famous speech at the Lions Club Convention in 1925, Helen Keller asked, “Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?” Ever since, Lions have made it one of its missions to serve the blind and visually impaired, and this is an important cause for the Westmont Lions.

Some of our members help organize the Association of Blind Athletes annual Goal Ball tournament at Haddon Township High School. We make donations to local organizations such as the New Jersey Camp for Blind Children, that provides a free week of camp to blind and visually impaired children each summer, and the Seeing Eye  that provides Seeing Eye dogs to blind people.

LIONS HAVE FUN
We have several club social events each year with our family and friends such as our Valentine’s Dinner and Installation Night and may also have an occasional bus trip or progressive dinner.  We man a fun booth events such as at the annual Haddon Township Fall Festival and the Summer of Love Music Festival to meet new neighbors and let the community know what services we can provide. And we like to socialize with Lions from other clubs too such by attending the annual NJ Lions Convention in Atlantic City, and our area's Zone and Region meetings.

Members can attend International Conventions held all over the world. Coming up are conventions in  Melbourne, Mexico City, Altlanta, Washington DC and Singapore. They can also attend Lions Clubs International Forums that include training and opportunities to exchange ideas and socialize with other Lions. We also can attend various virtual events.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US
The support of friends and neighbors helps us do what we do. By attending our fundraisers, or offering to help out at a "hands on" service event, you can help us serve more people. Tax deductible donations can be made to the Westmont Charitable Foundation. Gifts of merchandise or gift cards are always welcome for fundraisers or basket auctions.

Donations of food or beverages to serve at a fund raiser, or to donate to a food bank are always needed. To learn more about how to help, please see our Donations page.

JOIN OUR CLUB
Would you like to be a part of what we do? We are always looking for community minded men and women who would like to volunteer as a Lions Club member. For each new Lions member, the lives of 50 more people will be impacted each year. Please see our Membership page for additional information.
