2010 Peace Poster Winner Announced

The Wyoming Lions Club recently announced the winner of its 2010 Peace Poster Contest.  Grace Klooster, 11, of Wyoming was chosen the winner from the entries received by the club.  She was awarded a prize of $50 and her entry will go on to the competition at the sub-district level which consists of 50 clubs.  Grace is a 6th grader at Stark County Jr. High School in Toulon

The contest, open to children who will be 11, 12, or 13 on November 15, 2010, is a program of Lions Clubs International.   Children were asked to create a poster that visually communicates the contest theme, "Vision of Peace".  Once a local winner is determined, the poster goes on to compete at the sub-district level.  The winner from the sub-district then competes at the district level (State of Illinois) and that winner will go on to compete at the International level.  The international winner will receive a prize of $5,000 and an award.  They also travel with two family members to attend the award ceremony at Lions Day with the United Nations in March of 2011.
