Lions Club Meeting July 19, 2012

Lion Ron Kordas commented on the membership goals of new District Governor David Bonner and reminded the members that the Governor's Cabinet will meet Saturday at 8:30 am in the Lake Tanglewood Clubhouse. Lion Sid told the club that we now have 10 new member packets from Lions Clubs International for use by our club in the coming months.
 
Boss Lion Royce decided to reschedule the Palo Duro Canyon project. So, this Saturday's project is temporarily postponed.
 
Lion Roger announced that the Oct. 28 Cowboys Travel Package for the raffle will include two nights at a Hyatt Hotel near Cowboys' Stadium. He will work with Raffle Chairman Ty Cox to get us detailed fliers for next meeting. Boss Lion Royce will order tickets immediately. The members decided the ticket price will be $5 each or 5 for $20.
 
Boss Lion Royce asked the membership to continue looking for community service projects. The next Car Club meeting on the Hillside & Bell parking lot will be Saturday, August 4. We will provide free burgers and hot dogs, and we will sell raffle tickets at this event. Lion Mark responded to the Boss Lions' request by suggesting we look into ways to help the Martha's Home non-profit shelter for homeless women. He will provide more information for us at the next meeting.
 
Guest Paul Davis announce that he would like to join the Amarillo by Morning Lions Club and he submitted his New Member Application form.

Lion Jerry -- Meat & Beans

Lion Bryan -- Watermelon and/or Ice Cream
Lion Royce -- Potato Salad & Cobbler
Lion Mark -- Bread Rolls
Lion Sid has asked District Governor David Bonner to install officers and induct our new members.
 
 
Shoot for Scholarships:
Date is August 18, 2012
Lion Roger has found several travel packages for the raffle. We authorized him to find a package for a Dallas Cowboys game in the area of $700 to $800. He will report back at the Installation of Officers. Ticket price will be $5 each or 6 for $25.
Lion Bryan is looking into a night at the Ambassador Hotel for second prize.
We all need to be looking for additional prizes as well as sponsorships and teams.
