River Towns Lions Club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2000. Our motto is "service to the community we live in" as is the motto of all Lions Clubs around the world. Some of our main activities are:

  • Fund Raising for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a local charity that trains seeing eye dogs for the visually impaired
  • We collect canned food items during Thanksgiving time and donate to local food banks/charities
  • We collect old eye glasses for reuse by those in need
  • We honor the best policeman/policewoman in each of our local villages each year during our annual Police Awards and Dinner Gala
  • We present the Past Presidents' Award to a graduating high school senior in each of the local high schools for best community and scholarly work
  • We support the United Nations Peace Poster contest among students in our local elementary/middle schools
  • We have donated a bus shelter in Ardsley and maintain it
  • We sponsor free lectures open to the community with experts speaking on a wide variety of topics such as Social Security, healthcare issues and cultural topics

Last but not least, we would like to do more. For that we need more members from the community to join our club and work with us! Please join us or stop by one of our monthly meetings.
